Container Yards
CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. offers an array of cost-effective terminal service solutions to help customers manage empty equipment, including 24x7 facility access, third party repair vendors around the clock, on-terminal storage, management and automatic disposition of empty equipment (terms vary).
Wireless Terminal Technology (RF)
CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. has implemented wireless Radio Frequency (RF) technology at key terminals. This technology provides real-time status, location updates on inventories, all equipment on the terminal, as well as associations/disassociations between containers and chassis. This technology also monitors location and tracks the movement of hazardous loads on the terminal.
RF technology has improved driver dwell time on the terminal by 18%. The increased productivity will reduce customer drayage costs, increase the number of driver turns per day and increase terminal safety.
Chassis Pools
CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. supports the Ocean Carrier Equipment Management Association (OCEMA) chassis pool, which exists at all of our Southeastern terminals and will be expanded across our network as OCEMA increases their coverage. CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. also currently endorses neutral, co-op pools and carrier chassis throughout the network.
