One of the advantages domestic shippers have in using CSXT Intermodal is the year-round availability of container equipment.




Reservations 

Domestic containers are reserved year-round at many of our network terminals. Please refer to eBusiness Tools, simplified pricing, and service lane matrices for applicable for applicable origins. To reserve a rail-owned container, use REZ-1.


Interchange Agreements  

Drayage companies accessing CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. to dray rail-owned containers onto or off of our terminals are required to have a valid motor carrier interchange agreement (MCIA) that includes the CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. Addendum . The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) is responsible for administering these agreements through their UIIA program. You can visit IANA's website to view a copy of the UIIA Agreement or to obtain more information. IANA is also responsible for ensuring that motor carriers have a current insurance policy on file with CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc.

Private Equipment - Storage Charges  

CSXT Intermodal assesses and bills for terminal storage and premise use at all of its terminals. The details of these charges are in Service Directory 1 and in the CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. Addendum to UIIA.

CSXT Intermodal accepts American Express, VISA and MasterCard for payments made online. Please review and pay applicable storage charges for private equipment storage charges through ShipCSX Self Service Tools.

Rail Controlled Equipment - Per Diem and Storage Charges  

CSXT Intermodal assesses and bills for terminal storage and premise use at all of its terminals. The details of these charges are in Service Directory 1 and in the CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. Addendum to UIIA.

Disputes must be filed online through the "billing" section of the REZ-1 website. Necessary paperwork to support your claim may be requested by REZ-1's Accounting department . Depending on the volume of disputes received, dispute responses should be received no later than 3 days before the scheduled draft. Refer to Service Directory 1 for further information.

Equipment Maintenance 

  • For issues regarding lost, stolen or destroyed rail controlled equipment, contact CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. Maintenance Group.
  • For issues regarding emergency motor carrier road repairs due to breakdowns, consult your UIIA agreement or call either EBS 877-528-4737 (must be used in Chicago for Chassis Repairs) or Interstar 800-888-1001.



Chassis Information and Equipment Specifications 

Chassis are available at most intermodal terminals where COFC (container) movements are offered. Drayage firms need to have an agreement with the underlying provider to use chassis at these locations.
