August 2012 Intermodal Service Announcement: International
Released: Jul 31, 2012CSX Transportation (CSXT) makes regular service changes and adjustments to manage a dynamic network with evolving needs. To enable our customers to manage their business seamlessly with CSX, we are committed to communicating service changes in a clear and timely manner. Near-term Service Announcements follow below.
Unless specifically noted, changes are applicable to all International traffic and to all equipment types, and take effect on the first day of the month.
Effective in September:
Savannah to/from Chicago 59th Street: Service between Savannah and Chicago 59th Street is being consolidated at CSX's near-dock Savannah, GA, terminal, located conveniently at 3000 Tremont Road. This will reduce transit time and increase reliability for both port and local traffic. Schedules between Savannah and Chicago 59th Street remain unchanged and can be viewed on ShipCSX.
Reminder: Kansas City (local) and East St. Louis (local) Service to/from New York and New Jersey: As a means to improve service frequency and reliability, service for Kansas City and East St. Louis to/from New York and New Jersey is being consolidated to Elizabeth Marine Terminal (EMT) and Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT). Service to/from Little Ferry, NJ, and New York Container Terminal (NYCT) is being discontinued. Updated schedules to/from EMT and PNCT will be available as of August 1st.
Effective in August:
New International Service Lane: Cincinnati, OH to Charleston, SC: Service from Cincinnati to Charleston is now available, with schedules published on ShipCSX.
Reminder: Bedford Park, IL, to Talleyrand: Effective August 20th, traffic moving from Bedford Park to Talleyrand will be available at 1300 - Day 3. This will align scheduled service with the appropriate interchange window for reliable delivery.
Reminder: New and Improved Kansas City (local) and East St. Louis (local) Service to be Offered: New international local service will be introduced for Kansas City and East St. Louis to Baltimore, and to/from Philadelphia. Improved service frequency and/or transit time will be introduced for Kansas City and East St. Louis from Baltimore, and to/from Portsmouth APMT and Portsmouth NIT.
